VIBE and All Hip Hop caught up with Da Brat during her first 48 free from an almost three year prison bid. Here are excerpts from her interviews that mention Mariah.

VIBE: How did you find out about Mariah’s pregnancy?
Oh man! I talk to Mariah often and her and Nick came to see me. I knew about the miscarriage and I know she’s having the twins. And I know she only wanted to do it one time. They are like the cutest couple, they both are eternally 12. I swear! They’re big kids.

VIBE: Who was most surprising visitor?
Mariah and Nick surprised me! I saw someone from their crew and said ‘Oh s**t!’ I would’ve never thought that she would’ve came, she’s so girly! But that’s what real friends do.

AllHipHop.com: Do you have any regrets.
I miss my family. That’s the main part of it, I missed my family. And being able to hug and kiss on my mom, my granny and my aunt. My family, most of my family is in the Chi, in Chicago. I can’t fly for a minute still. My granny’s been going through some medical issues so I just miss her a whole lot. That’s the worst part about it - not being able to get my grind on, not being able to make my paper. My royalty checks have done me well. I been out for a minute so all those collabos, all those people that I wrote with and wrote for. You know, Bow Wow records and those Mariah songs and the Missy [songs] - you know, they doing me lovely. “Funktified” all of that. All that’s still getting airplay. My royalty checks is nice.
